WYE MILLS – Sixteen student-athletes from Chesapeake College were named to the MD JUCO All-Academic Team for 2016-17.
The honored Skipjacks are: Austin Benton (baseball), Cody Forster (baseball), Cody Fowler (baseball), Kyle Sonneveldt (baseball), Trent Koerner (baseball), Matthew Orr (baseball), Michael YaSenka (baseball), Chukwuma Isebor (basketball), Theorlodins Howards (basketball), Edwin Hernandez (soccer), Anne Gerwitz (softball), Cathi Ramagnano (softball), Megan Andrew (volleyball), Felicia Ell (volleyball), Laura Korb (volleyball) and Katie Worm (volleyball).
The Maryland Junior College Athletic Conference annually recognizes success in the classroom from those eligible student-athletes across the 16 member institutions. The MD JUCO All-Academic Team is awarded to those student-athletes who have participated in at least one sport for one season while achieving an overall grade-point average of at least 3.5 on a 4.0 scale. First-year students must have earned at least 18 credits, while second-year students must have earned at least 42 credits to be eligible for the award.
